Marlys Mae Goltz, age 59, of Baxter, passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in her home, from CNS Lymphoma Dec. 29, 2023. A Celebration of Life open house was at Jack and Jim’s Event Center in Duelm from 3-7 p.m. Jan. 3, 2024.

Marlys Goltz was born March 3, 1964, in St. Cloud to Jerry and Shirley (Abfalter) Chmielewski. She grew up in Foley and graduated from Foley High School. She married Monty Kampa July 16, 1983, in Duelm and they had four children together. Marlys worked with her family’s produce business, Jerry’s Farm Market, before pursuing a degree in nursing from St. Cloud Technical College and starting a career with Allina Health. Marlys married Jim Goltz July 12, 2014, in St. Paul. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending their events. She enjoyed playing cards, setting puzzles, cheering on the Vikings and fishing. As a true representation of her unending love and care for others, she has been accepted into the University of Minnesota’s Anatomy Bequest Program to support medical education and research.

Marlys is survived by her husband Jim of Baxter; children Josh (Nicole) Kampa of Foley, Katie (Dustin) Lahr of Foley, Kristin Kampa (Alex Brevig) of St. Cloud, and Kayla (Nevyl) Winkelman of Little Falls; grandchildren Abigail, Evan and Aaron Kampa, Ashley Postle, Zander and Adrik Winkelman; parents Shirley Chmielewski (Dick Reis) of Duelm; siblings Mark (Pam) Chmielewski of Duelm, Mary (Al) Jenson of Duelm, Monica (Greg) Wolf of Princeton, and Malinda (Paul) Carney of Prior Lake; brother-in-law John (Iveth) Goltz of Panama; sisters-in-law, Claudia (Gerald) Kaeter of Sauk Rapids, Deb (Dave) Brenny of Gilman, Jane (Terry) Miller of Foreston, Dorie Kampa of Prior Lake and Colleen (Dan) Morales of Anoka; many nieces, nephews and family friends.

Marlys is preceded in death by her grandparents, father (Jerry) and parents-in-law Oliver and Erma Goltz.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions which will be used to establish a memorial in Marlys’ name.
