Jack N. Cavallin

Jack Nicholas Cavallin was born June 20, 2011, to Nicholas and Traci (Monroe) Cavallin of Pine City. He passed away Dec. 21, 2023 at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul from complications of holoprosencephaly, which is a life-threatening condition.

From the moment Jack was born he thrived despite the odds. He lived his life to the fullest. He loved his home, his people, his yard, his world. He amazed doctors as every trip to the hospital ended early as he quickly taught his parents and medical staff that he heals best at home.

Jack loved rides of any kind. Swing rides, car rides, stroller rides, van rides and school bus rides too. The bumpier the better as he laughed at every bump. He loved floating in the pool on hot summer days. Jack loved his parents; he was both comforted and spoiled by them. He wasn’t afraid to let them know what he needed or wanted. Jack loved his grandparents and cousins. He loved his home health care nurse, Lisa. He made many friends at school as his big blue eyes and giggles just pulled people in. Jack made a huge impact on so many people.

We are eternally grateful for the 12 1/2 years we had with him.

Jack is survived by his parents Nick and Traci of Pine City; grandparents Angie Monroe of Foley, Richard and Sandra Cavallin of Pine City; aunts and uncles Chris (Jennifer) Monroe of Becker, Randy (Jessica) Monroe of Sartell, David (Carla) Cavallin of Braham, Jeffrey (JacLynn) Cavallin of Pine City, Linda (Rick) Boland of Pine City and Melissa (Tom) Westman of Braham; cousins Loren, Abby, Libby, Claire, Cullen, Colten, Callie, Laura, Joshua, Aaron, Jessica, Austin, Danielle, Allison and Vivian.

Jack was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom Monroe.

A gathering of family and friends was 5-8 p.m. Dec. 27 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
