FOLEY – The new superintendent of Foley Public Schools grew up in a town similar to that of Foley. Forged by the way of life in the Iron Range in northern Minnesota, Trish Perry is familiar with the small-town, close-knit environment the Foley community has become known for.

Every spring, the Benton Soil and Water Conservation District sponsors a variety of conservation contests that students in Benton County can participate in. There is a conservation coloring contest for kindergarten through fourth grade, and fifth and sixth grades can be involved with the poster, mural and essay contests.

Foley High School has produced a wide range of talented student-athletes who have continued to succeed athletically and academically at the collegiate level. Here is a list of Foley graduates who participated in the spring sports season.

An end of an era

FOLEY – For nearly a decade, Paul Neubauer has led the Foley school community through the ups and downs intrinsic to a school system.

FOLEY – A spring season that began on a challenging, wintry note ended with incredible acclaim at the section level for Foley Falcons spring sports.

Foley High School announces top 10

Soaring into state

The elimination bracket in a section baseball tournament can be a cruel place. Perhaps no program in the state knows that better than the Foley Falcons. Fighting back to the top requires several fresh pitching arms, timely hitting and maybe a bit of luck. Heavy favorites to win the last two Section 6AA tournaments, Foley stumbled in the early rounds and were unable to string together enough wins to reach the championship game. A deep pitching staff ensured that did not happen again.

Hitting comes from the heart

Josiah Petersen, like many other students at Foley High School, is a three-sport athlete.

Pursuing his passion

FOLEY – When A.J. Rahm played the saxophone for the first time in fifth grade, though he did not realize it at the time, it was the beginning of a relationship with music that would forge a clear path into the business world for the Foley High School senior. Now having earned a $1,500 scholarship April 12 from the Central Minnesota Arts Board to continue with his pursuit in the music industry, that sentiment has only been solidified. Rahm was one of 20 central Minnesota students awarded with a scholarship, which was geared toward those pursuing the arts in college. As an application, Rahm recorded himself playing a self-transcribed rendition of “Wrinkle” by Thank You Scientist. He said the transcription was a grueling, two-year process, and it started out of affection for the music and his favorite instrument.

FOLEY – The Foley High School community packed a hot, muggy gymnasium June 3 at the school in Foley to celebrate the accomplishments of the 2023 Foley High School seniors. As graduates walked across the stage, grabbed their diplomas and flipped their tassels, and as friends and family fanned themselves with programs, Foley’s senior class put a cap on their high school academic careers. In some instances, the graduation ceremony was a solemn celebration. But, for the FHS senior class, in line with its motto, “A sweet ending to a new beginning,” there were plenty of moments of enthusiastic celebration for their accomplishments.
