Robert A. Luckow

Robert Luckow, age 80, of Sacred Heart, and formerly of Oak Park, passed away May 28, 2024, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral service was May 31 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Foley. The Rev. George Sagissor officiated and burial with full military honors took place in the church cemetery.  Visitation was at the church Friday. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Robert Alan Luckow was born May 27, 1944, in Gaylord, to Wallace and Meta (Trout) Luckow. Robert was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord. He attended public school at Stewart and Gaylord. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1962 and served on Midway Island aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Hancock and also served at the Alameda Naval Air Station in California. Bob and Joyce were married Aug. 30, 1964, at First Presbyterian Church in Oakland, California. The couple lived in Minneapolis, Anoka and Elk River before moving to Oak Park where they farmed and raised their family. After their retirement they moved to Granite Falls. Bob enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and working on old cars. Bob and Joyce were longtime members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Foley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Teresa ‘Terri’ (Jason) Peterson of Belview; son, Rob (Susan) of Oak Park; five grandchildren: Hunter, Tanner, Walker, Autumn and Jesse; niece, Renae; and nephew, Troy. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Tiegs.
