A visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday, Jan. 7, at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.

Madeline Brenny was born April 29, 1942, in Graham Township to the late Roman and Josephine (Ratke) Brenny. She and her twin sister, Peggy (Mary), were born on the family farm. For many years, Madeline had everyone convinced that she was baby A (first-born) and was proud to announce that she was in charge when her parents were out. In a recent discovery, we learned that she was indeed Baby B, the younger sister. She attended grade school in Gilman and graduated from Foley High School with the class of 1960. She and her twin sister kept everyone on their toes as they would often switch places, including classes and boyfriends. Madeline attended Anoka Ramsey Technical College and received a degree in accounting. Madeline was united in marriage to Duane Jedlicki Oct. 22, 1962, and had two children, Mark and Linda.  After her annulment, she then married George Moren July 24, 1987, in Fridley. The couple made their home in Hillman. They took pride in hosting many family celebrations. Madeline worked in healthcare for much of her life. After George’s passing Aug. 18, 2004, Madeline made her home in Pierz. Madeline enjoyed being a foster grandparent for 15 years at Pioneer Elementary School. It was said she was able to fulfill her dream of being a math teacher as she helped students. She was very dedicated to this program and rarely missed a day. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and being around people. She was a member of St. Rita’s Christian Women, the Pierz Legion Auxiliary and the Fridley VFW. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark (Linda) Jedlicki, of California, and Linda (Lee) Olesen, of Arizona; grandchildren, Chase, Monika, Miki, Jenna, and Brody; siblings, twin sister Mary “Peggy” Shimanek, of Kansas, Elizabeth “Betty” (Gerald) Sullivan, of Prior Lake, Joseph Brenny, of Washington, Tim (Jane) Brenny, of Ham Lake, Duane (Mona) Brenny, of Rice; in-laws, Mary Brenny, of Rice, Richard Voss, of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Moren; siblings, Shirley Mehrwerth, Jane Brenny, Beverly Voss, Margie Brenny, and Robert “Bob” Brenny; niece, Cynthia Mehrwerth; and brothers-in-law, Richard Shimanek and Jerry Mehrwerth.

Emblom Brenny Funeral Service is cherishing the memory and celebrating the life of Madeline.
