Patricia A. Dillenburg

Patricia Dillenburg, 58, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away April 19, 2023, at Myers Nursing Home in Kansas City. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Morrill. The Rev. Matthew Langager will officiate. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Maurice A. Corrigan

Maurice ‘Maury’ Corrigan, 81, of St. Michael, passed away March 19, 2023, in a Palmetto, Florida, hospital after a short illness. His wife, Judy, was at his side. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Duelm. The Rev. Joseph Backowski will officiate and burial with full military honors will take place at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the church Saturday.  Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. 

Roland E. Bergstrom

Roland Bergstrom, 93, of Fergus Falls and formerly of Foley, passed away May 23, 2023, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Maywood Covenant Church in Foley. The Rev. Bert Holmquist will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at the church. Full military honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion immediately following the service at church. Burial will take place in the Maywood Cemetery. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Donna Scheel

Donna Scheel, 93, of Rice, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. Funeral service celebrating the life of Donna was May 25 at Graham United Methodist Church. Visitation was Wednesday evening at the church as well as one hour prior to services Thursday. Her final resting place will be next to her husband, Alvin, at Graham United Methodist Cemetery.  Service with dignity provided by Foley Funeral Home.

John W. Stawarski

John Stawarski, 87, of Gilman, passed away May 15, 2023, at Elim Home in Milaca after a short illness. Mass of Christian burial was May 19 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. The Rev. Matthew Langager officiated. Visitation one hour before Mass at the church Friday.  Burial with full military honors took place in the parish cemetery. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. John Walter Stawarski was born May 26, 1935, in Benton County to Walter and Genevieve (Kachmarek) Stawarski. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958. After returning from his military service, he assisted in maintaining the family farm with his father until 1970. He married Bonnie Stofflet Sept. 2, 1963, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley. The couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September. After selling the farm, he worked for 30 years as a master welder at DCI in Waite Park. After his retirement, John enjoyed his large gardens, mowing lawn, putzing with vehicles and visiting with everyone. He was an honorary life member of the Gilman Knights of Columbus, the Foley American Legion and Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Duane G. Baron

Memorial services were May 20 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Duane G. Baron, 63, who passed away May 16, 2023, at his home. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Doug Watercott and Kevin Brenny officiated and burial will be at a later date. Duane was born July 12, 1959, in St. Cloud to Henry and Frances (Gapinski) Baron. He grew up in the St. Cloud area in a big family with his parents, three brothers and five sisters. Duane graduated from Foley High School in 1977. He married Susanne “Sue” Reiman Sept. 26, 1998, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. They lived in Sauk Rapids where they raised their children, Jordan and Colin. Duane enjoyed working as a cabinet maker for Brenny Custom Cabinets for over 45 years before retiring in October 2022. In his free time, Duane enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing and spending time with family.

Richard G. Fernholz

Richard Fernholz, 80, of Foley, passed away May 16, 2023, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. June 1 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley. The Rev. Michael Wolfbauer will officiate and burial will take place in the St. Francis River Cemetery, rural Foley. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. May 31 at the Foley Funeral Home and will continue from 10-11 a.m. at the church June 1. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Richard Gerald Fernholz was born Sept. 26, 1942, in Glendorado Township, Benton County, to Raymond and Mollie (Hansen) Fernholz. He graduated from Foley High School, class of 1960. He married Beverly Hansmeier Nov. 25, 1972, at St. John’s Catholic Church. He farmed most of his life near Foley and also worked at Electrolux for several years. Richard was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and loved his cats, many of which were named Tom, that would follow him around the farm as he did his chores. He will be remembered for his helpful nature, sense of humor and maybe most of all, his “shack.” Richard loved when friends and family would stop by to join him in his shack to visit, watch sports and, of course, drink Dr. Pepper, his favorite beverage. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

Darrel A Jants

Darrel A. Jants, 81, of Foley, passed away peacefully at his home Nov. 21, 2022, after five years of dialysis. Burial will take place at noon Sunday, May 28, at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Foley. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Darrel Jants was born Feb. 18, 1941, to Reuben Odell Jants and Lucille West Jants. He married Pat (Zanke) Bednar in 1960. After a divorce, Darrel married Rita (Huneke) Chapp Aug. 22, 1969, in Clearwater. Darrel lived in South Dakota for several years before moving to the Foley area. Darrel worked for Lake States Tree Service for many years prior to driving fuel trucks for Anderson-Gilyard out of Becker for over 20 years. Darrel loved to hunt and fish. He passed these hobbies on to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Todd Jants, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, brothers Donald Jants (Carolyn), Dennis Jants (Linda), half- brother Terry Lundquist; half-sisters Peggy Lundquist Gust, Darlene Lundquist.

Dale L. Lewandowski

Dale Lewandowski, age 81, of St. Cloud and formerly of Gilman, passed away April 29, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by family and friends from heart failure.  Funeral services were 11 a.m. May 8 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. The Rev. Glen Lewandowski officiated and burial with full military honors took place in the parish cemetery. Visitation was May 7 at the Foley Funeral Home and continued from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the church Monday. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Dale Louis Lewandowski was born Feb. 12, 1942, in St. Cloud, to Louis and Mary (Kubat) Lewandowski. He attended grade school in Ronneby and graduated from Foley High School, class of 1960, where he played basketball. During high school, he worked for Lewandowski Implement. After he graduated from high school, he attended the University of Minnesota and eventually enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After the service, he farmed with his parents after his brother, Kelly, passed away. Dale married Judy Kampa March 4, 1965, at St. John’s Catholic Church. The couple celebrated 58 years of marriage together and raised four daughters: Sherrie, Brenda, Lisa and Terra. Together as a family, they operated Green Acres Dairy Farm in Gilman. Dale was active on several farm boards including the beef board, AMPI, ADA, and was the recipient of the Outstanding Farmer of the Year award. He also enjoyed tractor pulls, custom combining and all field work. After retiring, the couple moved to Zimmerman where they lived for 28 years.  Dale bid septic systems and drove truck for Centra Sota and RDO. Dale and Judy enjoyed watching their grandchildren at many sporting events. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially his grandchildren.

Michael J. Watercott

Michael Watercott, age 72, of St. Cloud, passed away April 30, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, at New Life Church in Foley. Visitation was May 8, at the Foley Funeral Home and continued one hour prior to the service at the church  Tuesday. Burial with full military honors will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Michael Joseph Watercott was born June 10, 1950, in St. Cloud, to Adrian and Angeline (Novak) Watercott. He graduated from Foley High School, class of 1968. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Elaine Regnier and they had two sons; Chad and Clayton.  He later married Marlene Bue and had a son, Carly together. On Aug. 1, 1998, he married Judy Landowski at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Buckman.  Michael farmed and raised cattle south of Duelm and worked construction, owning and operating Watercott Construction for many years.  His work was his hobby and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Cynthia A. Berg Schesso Johnson

Cynthia A. Berg Schesso Johnson, age 73, of Foley, Passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren April 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings and many beloved pets.

Lucille Skiba

Lucille Skiba, age 87, of Foley, passed away April 18, 2023, at The Gardens at Foley Nursing Center. Mass of Christian Burial was April 22, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. The Rev. Matthew Langager officiated and burial took place in the parish cemetery. Visitation was at the church on Saturday before mass. Service with dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home. Lucille Skiba was born April 25, 1935, in Benton County to Louie and Clara (Bursch) Dobos. She married Hank Skiba June 25, 1955, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Brennyville. The couple farmed all of their married life near Gilman. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and the Rosary Sodality.
